Rock in Rio Madrid concert!

(Bob Dylan rocking it early in the day above)
(The Main Stage area above)
(Franz Ferdinand on stage above.)

Okay, finally a chance to write again. I posted some vids and hopefully they load. I got some cool concert footage, but the files are too big to load right now. Also, for some reason, YouTube wants to crunch my files even when they are filmed at high resolution. Oh well.

So, we made it to the concert festival on a whim and a recommendation. The grounds were very impressive. We watched some local talents and then a big Spanish band that was great. I didn't get footage of that band. Next up was Bob Dylan. He's still chillin doing his thing on stage. The guy still has it, but I gotta say, he is running on fumes. Franz Ferdinand followed and I love these guys. They totally rocked the house!! In fact, they blew the house down! I caught a clip with all the members playing drums at the same time in an incredible finale. I'll post these vids upon my return to YouTube. Lenny Kravitz closed. I've seen him before and it was solid, but Franz Ferdinand had already blown away the crowd. Plus, Lenny was being a prima donna about the stage smoke machine. I didn't catch as much of him. Very solid performance, but again, Franz Ferdinand stole the show!!

So, the concert was a great time. I'm not a huge concert person as many people know, but a chance to see this lineup at a festival in Madrid?! You know we were going to be there!! Besides, I LOVE a good festival. It's mostly the local bands that are amped too high in small clubs that bother me. Plus, as you probably know my ADD gets to me and I feel like doing something else eventually. (Although an accoustic set in a more intimate setting, a festival rock event or watching a friend's band is always good.)

There were three stages. The Main Stage, the Hot Stage (local or up-and-coming bands), and the Techno (DJ) Stage. One of the last pics is of the Techno Stage.

So, that concluded our second day in Madrid. Blurring by quickly! Back on the move! Next update will be about our excursion to Granada, a change in plans and the famous (or not so) hotel cuervos or Cave Hotel.
